Hey all,
Recently whilst browsing the forums, I saw a thread which was about members of the community saying "OMG How are you a mod you have bad stats" and the like. It was as if moderators needed to be good at PvP to apply.
Reading that thread got me thinking about the requirements to become a moderator. A thought crossed my mind whilst I was pondering it afterwards, which was the amount of time Moderators within our community have been here for PRIOR to them becoming a moderator.
In my honest opinion, I believe a new requirement should be made for people wishing to apply as a moderator, which is at least a 1 year commitment to MCSG prior to the application for moderator.
My reasoning behind this is as follows:

In my honest opinion, I believe a new requirement should be made for people wishing to apply as a moderator, which is at least a 1 year commitment to MCSG prior to the application for moderator.
My reasoning behind this is as follows:
- If Moderators have a years worth of knowledge before applying, they then should have built up enough time to know the inner workings of MC Gamer as a whole, and not just base things off prior assumptions that they may have learnt through their lives.
- If Moderators have a years worth of experience with MC Gamer, they would be given more respect by the community, as they would be well known by the members of the community. This creates a more peaceful relationship between the staff and the members, which we all know is vital to the survival and continuation of MC Gamer.
- If Moderators have a years worth of PvP experience which comes alongside general MC Gamer experience, they can more easily distinguish what are hacks compared to pure skill and or ping. This is a major problem within MCSG and other PvP gamemodes, as even I myself have been falsely banned for aimbot which I did not have, and I had to dispute it with recorded evidence.
- If a member of our community has been here for a year, then by that time they should know the major commitment that it takes to become a moderator. Many of the new players who attain the moderator position aren't fully aware that being a mod will take up countless hours, resulting in less of a social life. This is a major factor as it just leads to more resignations.
