Here's what I think is wrong about this map:
- The cornucopia is extremely unfair. The podiums are supposed to be placed in a circular fashion, so that all the tributes are equally away from the cornucopia. Also, arranging the podiums in a square makes people at the corners further away than people from the center. Please properly lay it out. It's not very hard to do, there are even presets in other threads that are available for use.
- The cornucopia has nine chests. It's only supposed to have eight. 'Nuff said on this point. Also, it being a few blocks deeper is unfair to everyone who doesn't get a stone sword from the cornucopia. It DEFINITELY needs to change.
- A large amount of the map is flat stone brick. This makes for incredibly boring gameplay and long chases. All maps that have this characteristic are doomed to fail. Trust me. There needs to be a much more varied landscape throughout the map, especially near the cornucopia. The mountain range could also use improved terraforming.
- The village area ends too abruptly. You immediately go from stone brick and wood, to grass and into a foresty-area. It looks as if the map is unfinished, or like there's some sort of chunk error. You need to make the transition less abrupt and more gradual (if that's what you were aiming for). I suggest adding snow if this is supposed to be a ski resort or something.
- Pretty much the whole map is buildings. There's no other attraction to this map. A bunch of similar buildings clustered near each other and a few sparsely set out away from the spawn is not a very good idea. The map Survival Kingdom is the only map that managed to pull a setup like this off. Just add more attractions to this map, or replace some and make them more varied.
- The cornucopia and the map in general is very bland. The materials (wood and stone) are very excessive and way too overused all across the map. There needs to be more materials incorporated inside the builds in order to make it look more appealing. May I also suggest ruining some parts of the map. It gives it much more of a torn-down realistic look. Of course, this is not obligatory, but recommended.
- There is no theme to this map. "Village" is not a theme. It's only an excuse to cluster a bunch of identical buildings right near each other, and title it an MCSG map. Try to come up with a theme better suited to the map and make the appropriate changes.
- Copyright infringement. I don't think you're allowed to use brands like Oakley on MCSG maps. Nobody has ever did that on any maps, so please excuse me if I am incorrect on this point. At least try to be creative and create your own brands.
- Some of the village plots looked empty. Avoid empty spaces at ALL costs! This makes a map very boring and significantly decreases the chance of it being accepted. The village seems very repetitive in the video that you made. This map, in general, definitely needs an overhaul.
- Last, but not least, empty rooms. GET RID of empty rooms! There's nothing worse than going into a house only to discover an EMPTY ROOM. Fill them up with something! Be creative!
I apologize if my comments were too harsh, but I think you were exaggerating the amount of effort that was put into the creation of this map. You made it sound like it was the best thing ever. Improvements need to be made on this map.
