The new NCP Update

I don't see why they change things when people are happy with the way things are. If they don't change it soon though they will lose a player.

The Fishing Rod Tactic was the only PvP strategy I had mastered and could use to take out players with much better ping than me. Living on the opposite side of the country to where the servers are located means myself and a few close friends that also live near me get an average of 80-150 ping. If you have bad internet or have similar connection experiences you will know how hard it is to play with this. The new NCP update has completely destroyed MCSG for us and soon enough, one by one, we will end up quitting.

NOTE: I was going to make my own thread, but after seeing this I thought I would just add to it.

This has nothing to do with NCP. Mojang made it so that when you switch hotbar slots, you have delay with the item you intend to cause damage with.

Which implies that if you play on an earlier update, this doesn't happen. So my theory was correct.

You are actually wrong. I tried playing on 1.7.2 and it is the same if not worse. They have updated NCP, please get your facts straight before trying to be all smart.

This is an extremely annoying thing and if not fixed will ruin mcsg and pvp. Please fix it.
If there is any mods, sr. mods, admins, devs with any information about the problem or when it will be fixed then it would be helpful to post something in the thread so we can know that you are aware of it and to put our minds at ease a bit.

I win about the same amount of games. This update has showed me that strafing is much much more fun than rod spam. I just love how I can now get amazing combos, especially as I now officially get 15ms ping. The one problem is, I am probably going to get an unfair ban soon because my ping makes me so overpowered, and at least 20 people have called forcefield on me.

this is what we are talking about though. You have 15ms which in my opinion and experience is good or OP connection. While everyone else suffers you are still able to play.

Final thing. I think there is an update on this! I was on MCSG and other people may have seen this. There was a global message saying something along these lines "If you are a lover of rod combos then join US??? to test a new NCP update." this was about 20 minutes ago. I hope this is meaning it will be fixed very soon.

I get the same problem too. When ever I try hitting someone I miss the first hit, even when I don't use the fishing rod. It is so annoying because it's making me die so much in SG. If this what mojang created, they are really screwing this game up.

Regarding the rod/sword combos triggering a delay (as well as switching slots in general) - that should be fixed now with a NCP update pushed a little bit ago.
