I have studied issues, complaints and restrictions on the AU servers.
The problem is : player maturity, quantity of servers and competitive vs fun
The AU player base is huge, and this creates a problem of the extremely fast filling up of AU servers.
This also causes the 'pros' to be compressed only into 6 servers. Unlike in US or EU where there are more servers and the chances of you encountering into people like Zeno or eshan is fairly low. However, in AU, the chances of encountering into infamous people like Elisha_Mutang or nedscott.
This also causes a huge rise in the number of hackers in AU as they could gain both points and wins easily because its extremely easy to bump into someone with high points. This also causes a considerable skyrocket in the number of wins of the top leaderboard-ers.
I justified these issues with my past experience in AU when it was still quiet and not crowded. When people such as SSiafs and ShaunDepro plays on many occasions. The situation at that time was very much different to the situation today. At that time, there were only 5 or 6 people considered to be 'professionals'. They dominated the servers but as time went on, they left. The player population in AU increases as more people acknowledges its existence, both legits and hackers alike. These causes a demand in more servers. This could be easily compared to the real-life situation in developing countries where there's a big demand for housing.
Most of the players in AU is very young, with an average of 13 years old. Nevertheless, age doesn't matter, its the maturity. Most players in AU tend to really complain and go on a tantrum when someone kills them. I had a friend who was unfairly banned because he was considered of one as 'lowly' and he killed a 'professional' (Don't worry, he plead and was unbanned). Fortunately, there's still a handful of people 'mature' enough to handle such things.
Third and final issue is 'competitive vs fun'. I also believe this is an universal issue, and most people is already aware of this. I won't go into trouble of explaining this.
TL;DR AU has too little servers, density of players it very high. Maturity of players is also quite low.
DISCLAIMER : I am very aware of the AU servers being the most expensive. This is more of a report rather than a suggestion/complain.
