Teamwork is powerful, however, the art of betrayal is stronger. But how exactly do you successfully betray someone? Do you find that you've failed backstabbing on several occasions? If so, I implore you to read this guide. I will teach you all the basics as well as advanced strategies that work near every time. However, before you start this guide, you must know what type of backstabbing you're looking for. The two main options are:

-Instant Backstabbing: This is when you backstab someone quickly after you agree to team.

-Delayed Backstabbing: This is when you hold out until the final deathmatch of the game and then carry out the attack.

We will start off with "Instant Backstabbing", which is my betrayal of choice. Now, there are several different situations and ways to lure players in. I will go through the two main ocassions in which you might feel the need to backstab, and what to do in the situation:

-Requested Teaming: This is when your opponent requests to team with you. Provided that you can't kill them on the spot (Say they're running far ahead of you, or swimming a ways away) reply saying yes. Do NOT approach them or make any sudden dashes. They will take this as a sign of betrayal and will run. Instead, toss them down some basic gear or a weapon they might need. Nothing too advanced, remember that they can't see your inventory, they don't know if you're lying. After you have done this, try and get them into a tight or enclosed building, never attempt to backstab in a field or plain as they have loads of running space. Once inside a enclosed space, ask if your teammate needs food. This is the best strategy that works everytime. Wait for them to stop walking and start typing, once they start typing attack them right away. Attacking while people are typing is an extremely easy kill. Remember, people can't attack while they're typing: And while you're attacking they'll lose their cool and won't think to press escape in-time.

-Pacifist Teaming: This is what I call pacifist teaming. It is when you see someone who could put up a bit of a challenge or fight on you. Ask if they want to team, remember not to dash towards them, if they ignore your offer: start sprinting towards the nearest large body of water: it'll be easier to type there. When your enemy is still trying to kill you, try convincing him that he needs you to win. For example, say "There's a 3 team with full iron, we have to team to win!", that might get his attention. If it doesn't, good luck with the fight, if it does, simply repeat the betrayal steps as portrayed last time.

Here are some things to avoid doing if you're looking for an instant backstab.
1. Don't attack your enemy right away, you must get him familiar with you. At the request of your team, your mate probably has 30% confidence in you (unless they're brand new) You need to boost up their confidence by giving them armor, but nothing too strong.

2. Don't ever attempt to team with a 2 team, 3 team, or any other type of team. You need to get away from them as fast as you can. Even if you do ask to team with them, they will look for the quickest and fastest way to betray you. If you feel confident enough however, and you see they're weak enough, go right ahead.

3. If you're trying to team with someone in the water, start by stopping dead in your tracks. It boosts people's confidence if you're not chasing after them. Then throw some armor on shore. If they go after it, do the "do you need food" trick.

4. Don't let yourself be backstabbed: If you happen to be weak and running with someone with chain armor and he wants to team, the odds are that he is trying to backstab you. If you're too weak to take him down, tell him to stop and give you some armor. Get the most out of him that you can. If he is sprinting after you it's not a good sign.

Those are the main things you need to know about Instant Backstabbing, now we will progress into a bit simpler of backstabbing, but also a bit more dangerous as your teammate could be more powerful.

-Final Betrayal: There are two different types of backstabbing that you can try and pull off at the end:
1. After you finish off the enemy, pause and ask your teammate what the plan is. Be near him, when he stops walking and starts typing, light him with flint (if you don't have flint, just start swinging) and finish him off. It's a pretty simple strategy.

2. Let your teammate do all the attacking on the enemy. Just hold back, if your teammate dies this is okay. After the fight is over, run in and attack the remaining opponent, as by now he will be super weak.

There are 2 things you need to look out for when doing a final betrayal.
1. If you're going to attack your teammate right after you kill the enemy, than you need to stay out of the fight. You could take a few hits and those make all the difference in the world.
2. If you're going to do step 1, keep in mind that your teammate could easily backstab you and that, like step 2, you need to let your teammate do the attacking. Strategy #1 is recommended if your enemy was super weak.

I hope this all helped, and if you have any questions feel free to ask! :)

Well, if someone asks you to team after they've chased you for a while. Just run.
