Our Minecraft servers are offline but we will keep this forum online for any community communication. Site permissions for posting could change at a later date but will remain online.
Let's say the devs continue to make the servers easier, and easier, and easier, and easier causing most of the more experienced donators to go on a different more challenging server.Think about it this way.
Let's say the devs added these survival features, causing most of the regular users to leave and go play a different server. All of the current donors eventually run out of donor time (Except diamond). These former donors now don't find any reason to donate because the servers are so easy to join now. After a while MCSG runs out of money, and then...splat.
A majority of donors actually aren't active on the forums, so this improbable. And look, I actually prefer the survival element to be be honest. I'm just stating it how it is. Majority rules.Let's say the devs continue to make the servers easier, and easier, and easier, and easier causing most of the more experienced donators to go on a different more challenging server.
Splat, servers are closed within a month or so.
Very true, however it's frustrating at the same time. MCSG just feels like it's too competitive at the moment. All like it's one big competition. All the less, accurate points, it just came across in your first post that you were saying MCSG is fine as is and the difficulty improvement ideas were foolish.A majority of donors actually aren't active on the forums, so this improbable. And look, I actually prefer the survival element to be be honest. I'm just stating it how it is. Majority rules.
Just to clear up above posts, if the servers get harder, people who can't win will leave and if the majority of them are non-donors then the servers don't really lose money. If the servers continue to stay easy, experienced players who have probably donated out of dedication or a long term plan to stay at the servers will all leave to find a more challenging server, losing money meaning the servers can't be run.
Meh, logical thinking.

Even if the number was lowered, the cost to fund the servers, teamspeak, and the website would still take an insane amount of cash, something even the few people who actually care about the servers wouldn't be able to fund.I gotta agree, your point about regular players leaving was a good response. But then you see players who have bought iron donor for extended periods of time because they actually CARE about the servers and they allow it to get funded. They could have bought diamond but they continue to buy iron. These guys will still fund the servers even after players who don't want change leave.
Still, they could decrease server number if a huge number of players left which woouldn't happen anyways.
Still, the way everyone's speaking about it makes it seem as though if they added the "survival aspect" back to MCSG, every non-donor and forum user would leave. That's not what would happen, a tiny fraction of people would leave. Look back at major MCSG updates, how many times has MCSG seen a drastic change in player numbers after an update?Even if the number was lowered, the cost to fund the servers, teamspeak, and the website would still take an insane amount of cash, something even the few people who actually care about the servers wouldn't be able to fund.
The problem with that is that MCSG is already one of the hardest SG servers. The Hive and Fridge are not very strong in terms of difficulty.Just to clear up above posts, if the servers get harder, people who can't win will leave and if the majority of them are non-donors then the servers don't really lose money.
