Sounds like the hell games and we all know what the game makers are like in there.... ;3

Who says those are bad things? People need to learn to adapt to their surroundings.Chest Killer - Would ruin chest routes
Flood - Think about Demon's Breeze
Fire - It would just be torture if the gamemakers decided to focus on one player
Map Shrink - It would ruin a lot of PvP strategies.
Much agreed, people come here all the time and say that: "It's the survival games, you do what you have to do to survive" But then when they bring up the negative aspects about it, such as the possibility of gamemakers, then they get all defensive about how that idea would just be stupid.Who says those are bad things? People need to learn to adapt to their surroundings.
I suppose Chest killer and Map shrink wouldn't hurt so much, but flood could totally ruin the map; depending how mature the gamemakers are, and fire; as it has already been stated, would be very unfair and could favour teams.Who says those are bad things? As I said, the way this would be done if it were added would be a randomized point in each game where one of these events occurred, and as the game went on, the chances would get higher.I suppose Chest killer and Map shrink wouldn't hurt so much, but flood could totally ruin the map; depending how mature the gamemakers are, and fire; as it has already been stated, would be very unfair and could favour teams.
There is no flaming here, just a convo about this suggestion .That would make it better, but it still has the flaws that I pointed out.
I'm probably going to stop posting here, to prevent this thread from becoming a flame war.
It wouldn't be randomized if they were people doing it. Maybe they can only do it during a select period of time, but it still wouldn't be that random. As I said, the way this would be done if it were added would be a randomized point in each game where one of these events occurred, and as the game went on, the chances would get higher.
I believe you are missing my point, there would be no people in charge of causing the events, the plugin would trigger 1 every game at a random time, the possibility increasing as the game went on. Having people do just would not work well.It wouldn't be randomized if they were people doing it. Maybe they can only do it during a select period of time, but it still wouldn't be that random.
Gamemakers could definitely be interesting. But I don't think they suit the Survival Games gameplay as most of us know it, and like it. I wouldn't want someone trying to control how the game ends.
Also, for map shrink, what happens if you're standing at the dome when it's shrinking? Do you end up outside?
But that was the point of the suggestion, and that completely changes the idea of it. Without people, it would be a lot fairer because it would actually be random, but a lot less interesting and completely ruining the point of the idea. I think if there are 'game makers' they should be people, to make it closer to the Hunger Games and because I believe it would be more fun to be a game maker rather than the plugin be the game maker. But with people as game makers, it becomes stupid and OP for friends of his.I believe you are missing my point, there would be no people in charge of causing the events, the plugin would trigger 1 every game at a random time, the possibility increasing as the game went on.
