You just made my heart hurt D: oh how I miss these days. I especially loved the one about running into each other so often in game - I was such a noob but I loved playing with some other friendlies I would meet just in spectator. Remember when people would actually stick around and spectate a match? Bet on who would win, discuss strategy? I remember the rush of right before you were disconnected from a server you'd be yelling at your friends in chat like "REJOIN US3 MEET AT CAKE HOUSE!!!" Simpler times, definitely.

Omg I remember now xD I never got past the lava because I would always die as I didn't do it right.
IIRC, it wasn't the typical jump in lava and fall through deal. I believe you had to swim out of the lava and survive the fire to see the room.

It was a very fun easter egg to findwhile exploring the map in my early days. c:

Sg1 was always a good map back then. And since everyone was new to the gamemode, tricks like that were always fun to pull. :p

Now, I was a player who loved to know every little secret of the map. There was this one island... It completely flat with a bridge going to it. Obvious to think a secret was there right? Turns out there was a button on the side of the island. I swear though, I spent hours hitting that button trying to find the secret, for I heard pistons moving.

Ended up downloading the map and loaded it in single player. When to the island and tore it apart. Turns out, there was nothing there, just a lone piston under the ground getting activated, not exposing anything. That drove me mad...

Yea maps today don't give you this feel to explore everything. Just plain, casual maps that you just have to get good stuff and win. You can't really pull traps like this in today maps.
