Help? How long will it take so that I don't keep gagging and it tastes like plastic? I just got it in today

Get some mouthwash what ever flavor you like and soak the retainer in that it's what i do.

When I brush it with toothpaste to clean it it gives it a nice minty flavor c:

I have a permanent one on my bottom teeth too, but I got used to that in a day.
