Resetting The Nether

I think the ore would be better. I use quartz for exp.

Then they could sell the Quartz ore too

Another issue is over-mining of quartz and I fear it will soon run out.

MAybe it's changed since then, but when I went to the nether about a week ago, there was quartz galore.

Question: Does the nether go out to the border (around 7k), or does it go out in relation to the regular world (where every block in the nether is 3 or something, so the borders would be around 2.6k)?
