Negativity has been an increasing problem in our community and I think it's time to address it. Mostly centered here on the forums, negativity is mainly directed at the state of the server. I'd like to cover a few things on this negativity.
1. Negativity vs Constructive Criticism
The difference between the two is that constructive criticism gives the point of something being wrong or bad, and then adds onto that with ways to improve it or make it better. Constructive criticism is welcome, while negativity is not. Take a moment before you post your next thread reply and think about what you're about to say.
Here are some Good examples*:
"The anticheat is bad, the developers should focus on the speed hacking portion of it"
"The MCSG gamemode is getting old, we should add new gamemodes that the community likes"
Here are some Bad examples:
"The anticheat is bad"
"MCSG is dying"
*Note that no examples used in this thread are my opinion, they just regard common topics brought up in our community
2. Negativity's Impact
The impact of the negativity on all 3 platforms is larger than you may think. I get asked multiple times a day if the server is closing soon. Its almost like these players are being manipulated to believe it! I can see that as a campaign, which is against the rules. As for how it affects me personally, it really makes me uncomfortable and sad that so many people gave up and are encouraging others to give up. Be careful what you say, because it will impact everyone who reads it.
3. You should stop
There are several reasons you should stop being negative. It's not fun to be around negative people all the time, and soon you'll start losing friends because of it. Why be a bad person when you can be a nice guy. Everyone likes the nice guy, so be that nice guy. Also, the negativity doesn't help the situation, it hurts it. If you want to help, help. If you want to be negative about it, it would be better for everyone involved if you keep it to yourself.
tl;dr Think before you talk, don't be negative.
