Redstone Torches

I don't know about everyone else but the 'burnout' thing on torches is so stupid, I don't understand the point of it?

No it's not, many new inventions, such as the rapid pulser use these burnouts for rapid redstone charges.

Almost every random number generator ever made depends on torch burnout, so no, it's not stupid.

Actually it is in the game, so your PC won't crash if there is too fast redstone circuitry going on. For shure it's also good for number generators etc.
