Server: us4 (global?)

Game stage: ingame, deathmatch

Details: Red-stone states do not load properly on game restarts, doors of rooms will appear open when they should be closed, traps will not work correctly (pressure plate not activating till a server-side mob walks on it), Pretty much any thing that happens on a server will stay as is. This could just be a map reseting problem. This is also a problem is user placed blocks such as vines, they are just not resetting to initial map states where there was no vines previously. Tree leaves also do not reset to initial states. Switches do no reset to initial states ect.

FIXED
Server: global

Game stage: ingame, deathmatch

Details: The introduction of being able to destroy dirt blocks may be too much, as traps can be exposed and you can bypass its mechanics. Traps should be protected properly (I believe some require you to break dirt) or have this feature removed. (There may be too many to list but the combination room exit is one of them).

Still not fixed. Bump for visibility. This is the main reason for redstone circuity being broken and traps being open on map reset when they should be closed. FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT

Its not the end of the world man. Just leave it alone. The mods and admins have more important things on their to-do lists right now

Exactly dude, its not the end of the world. In fact it hardly affects me much. Its just that its known since Beta started that redstone is always glitchy in servers.

Some of the contraptions on the server are very well thought out and the redstone isnt pulsing or always activated, taking away from forms of constant lag

According to the dev, redstone resetting is almost impossible. We will look into it however by contacting bukkit.

This may be true, but it gives unfair advantages to some players as difficult/time consuming traps that could take 20 sec or so to complete is already completed for you giving you 2 or more chest by doing nothing.

Couldn't you have it so the used map is discarded and replaced with a reference map, that has everything set to initial states.

If that is to IO intensive on your drives you could just scan arena chunks and any changes in the block data is replaced with the original reference data. (IE, switch is on, scanned, Replaced with switch in off position, You would have to look at metadata for this ;) ) FYI I'm a minecraft mod dev :p.
