I use a nifty little program called "Screen Recorder-Pro", and it's Mac exclusive. It costs around 7 USD on the Mac app store. As for free suggestions, I've got nothing. I've tried that alley before. ;-;

I'd use SMRecorder, CamStudio, and/or NCH Software. Seeing that there are many suggestions, I am going to lock this thread.
