Could be your overly epic texture pack. Well it happened for me. And it isnt that hard to get in a server for non-donators now. Even me as a donator, i go in servers that are not full so that i dont kick someone out.

My computer has only 2 gigs of RAM. It's been working lately, though. The removal of the pistons and weather were very helpful. I have no mods or texture packs.

And I really would recommend some sort of bonus for not teaming or some way to nerf teams. It may be easy to survive teams, but it is near impossible to win once someone in a team has diamond.
