It's a good idea. If You wanted the best of both worlds you could have it so you could see your own ranking, and other players are unable to see that. Therefore you can see your ranking, however, other users cannot use your rank to target you. :3

The leaderboard update basically removed all the cool features like chests and kills per game, ingame rank, bounty, etc. :c

Funny you mention this, because I recently spoke to someone about a possible fix, so there may be something coming in the future!
