Now I know I'm not the greatest player on MCSG, but my long existence on the server has lead me to some knowledge. I thought I would share some tips I know to be a better player.
1. DO NOT put your armor on when getting a chest from corn: People think that putting on your armor after spawn is a good idea. WRONG. If someone with a stone sword off spawn sees you with full armor they are going to do one thing. Target.
2.Use your hot keys to pull out your Flint and Steel: For some people it is really obvious when they are going to pull out a FnS. Don't be that guy. If you need some adjusting to using the hot keys go onto a different server and practice them. In no time you will be a master at the Flint and Steeler. (If that's a thing).
3. Get a resource pack: There are two main reasons to get a PvP resource pack in my opinion. One is being able to see your crits. In default it is not easy to see your crits since they are gray. Get a resource pack that maybe has all different colors to see a crit. Second is being able to see when lit on fire. On default when lit on fire half your screen is red and makes it very hard to PvP. Very many resource packs make it so you can hardly see the fire. Get these kind of resource packs.
4. Have a good route on every map you play on: Don't be that guy showing up into deathmatch with leather armor. (Unless you're doing a challenge). It's as simple as that.
5. Don't be scared to run away from a fight: I cant tell you how many people are way to greedy when fighting in HG. If I'm ever at anything lower than 2 hearts I always try to get out of the fight, maybe do a quick FnS (flint and steel) then BOOOOMMM you killed someone while running away.
6. Team: Im not saying to do this every game but once and a while be in a team. It definitely brings a different feel to the game and brings your wins up a bit.
7. Don't be mean: Although this necessarily is not a PvP tip it is a tip to keep in mind while playing MCSG. Don't be rude and swear or say "GG 10 easy get reked nub" (and yes I did spell reked wrong purposely ). You never know it might come back to haunt you or otherwise known as getting banned.
8. Know when to use your sponsored ender pearl: This is a biggy because I see this happen a lot while fighting another person. Remember, getting transported by an ender pearl takes away 3 hearts. If you are at 2 hearts and running away DO NOT use your ender pearl or else you will die.
9. Try to get crits: I know most people do a very good job at getting crits but not everyone. Crits are sooooooo much better than regular hits. Crits will get you so much deeper into a fight so you might aswell make sure you do them.
10. Lastly, have an arranged inventory: To win a MCSG match I always have an organized hot bar. Always make sure you can get to your FnS, sword, fishing rod and bow. Don't have a stack of seeds in your inventory or a wooden axe when you're using a diamond sword.
