Please, its flooding the community corner.

The community corner was a place for fun chat, discussions, and maybe a bit of trolling only a few weeks ago. Now its a place filed with;

"My AMA's!"
"My AMA (Ask me anything!!!1!!!!11!!1)"
"[Staff] [Staff member]'s AMA!"

I'll probably get a lot of hate for this, and Im not trying to stop you from trying to get popular/all that whatnot, its just if people really wanna ask you a question, they will do it without you having to flood the whole community corner.

If you still wanna do something like that, open an ask.fm account and put it in your sig and/or put it in your signature.

Im not trying to hate, its just flooding the whole community corner, and combined with all the pinned threads, there's literally no space for any proper threads.

I'll probs get a little hate. But its true.

It's just going to be a fad that we will have to endure. They are kind of fun, in retrospect, and it's really weird timing because I came home one day with the urge to make AMA's a thing here on MCGamer, and there were multiple ones that had been posted that very day!

Nevertheless, it's not something that can simply be stopped, people may do what they'd like, no matter how repetitive.

Thanks for having the guts to make this thread. I couldn't agree more.

It's the trends like this, (as well as the _____ appreciation threads, portable ______ threads, my opinion on MCGv2 threads, WERE'S HUAHWI threads, and others) that keep threads that are actually decent and interesting from staying around for a while. It's actually quite irritating and it makes people not want to be active on the forums anymore.

So if you are reading this, please don't make another AMA thread. Make an ask.fm and make a status update about it. People rarely take AMA threads seriously, anyway.

Try going to the Overcast Network forums. They have a whole section dedicated to AMA's ;)

I can understand from your point of view of how the AMA's are flooding the community corner section, but don't worry because soon enough it will dial down. There's a thing though, as you said in you thread post saying ''The community corner was a place for fun chat'' and I actually find it a fun and interesting way to know more about our community members.

Askfm is a great solution to fix the flooding in the community corner, but the repercussions that could happen on Askfm have to be taken into consideration. Coming from a personally experience, Askfm can be a great socialising place, but also a really easy anonymous website to abuse people. At Least on MCGamer forums there are moderators who keep it clean and watch over us, unlike a website that will not give a damn if you get abused. So I ask, is it really worth it?

They were a thing before you were here and It's just gonna be one of those threads, it in no way goes against any rules and It's in the correct section therefore if you don't like it, you're going to have to deal with it.

From my perspective, when I have heard about the AMAs becoming more recognized in the community, I've noticed a considerable amount of threads being posted, thus having the community corner to be filled. However I feel as if I am alright with AMAs being around, which could let the community know more about a specific individual, this could help the community get closer together and bond with each other.
But due to the flooding of the AMAs, I could suggest making an AMA section where people can post their threads, but yet again, that may not happen any time soon.

All in all, people can ask each other questions within their profiles too, I don't really see much of a problem there, but yes, the AMAs are there to see who is actually interested in asking about them.
Unfortunately, I've been seeing some sort of downfall with intriguing threads, a majority of them don't have as much controversy as they have used to. I would hope more interesting topics come up around for discussion in the future.

To be honest, it gives everyone a way to get to know the people making the thread. The community corner is for the community. If you do not like it, you will just have to deal with it. The trend only lasted for a few days, it is barely still going on. Yeah, I understand the fact that you can make an ask.fm, but it is so much more comicated than just posting an easy thread in the community corner.

What is your definition of "flooding" too? I would think that flooding would mean having an abundant output, so with that you'd expect that the community corner would have 1 or 2 pages full or AMA's. Which they don't, there is 2-3 on each page.

So in conclusion, I understand your point of view, but you have to understand mine. AMA's are just a trend, it will die down after a few days and the community corner will return to its normal state. :)
