Welcome to the fourth installment of the Patch Notes! This update covers most changes between May 1 and May 15, 2015. Not every single change will be included on this biweekly update post - during a typical development fortnight, we make several internal changes to the codebase, and the details of those internal changes are usually irrelevant to players. In addition, we've been working on some exciting changes over the past few weeks, but we can't share the details of those changes publicly until they're ready to be released. The biweekly Patch Notes includes most of our publicly visible changes.

Important note: Some of the new features and bug fixes below have yet to go live. They'll be live within the next few days.

New Features
Revamped Friends System
We've updated the friends system to be a bit more user-friendly (no pun intended). Here's a list of changes to it:
  • Both /friend add and /friend accept now work to accept a friend request
  • When you send someone a friend request, they'll receive a notification (if they are online)
  • When someone accepts your friend request, you'll receive a notification (if you are online)
  • Both /friends and /friend list (just different ways to run the same command) now show pending friends, how long ago an offline friend was seen, and the current server of an online friend (the screenshot above shows "Unknown" - we're making a database change within the next few days to fix this to show the region)
  • If you're friends with a developer (congrats!), their name will now appear in full rainbow glory (woo!)
  • When /friend related commands failed, they used to not give any output, which wasn't very user friendly at all. They now tell you what the error was (which is arguably more user-friendly).

Hub Information Book
As part of our efforts to make the network more user-friendly to newer users, we've added an information book to everyone's inventory in the hubs.

No image for this yet, but have a Unicode snowman: ☃
End-of-Round Leaderboard Broadcast
When a SG round ends, as long as you are still online somewhere on our network, you'll receive a notification in-game linking you to the round page on our website.
Note: This is one of the features that has yet to go live. It will go live within the timeframe stated at the beginning of the post.

Bug Fixes
  • Fix a glitch where spectators would be visible upon joining games
  • Fix some links not being clickable in chat (this still only partially works; we're attempting a few different fixes)
  • Fix /watch denying users from spectating full games
  • Several miscellaneous stability improvements

Closed Issues
This list represents all closed issues from the bug tracker. Note that some issues in this list may be invalid in different ways - for example, issues which do not belong on the bug tracker (hacker reports, suggestions, etc.), issues that are duplicates of others, or issues that do not provide enough information. For an accurate representation of bugs fixed during this fortnight, please see the list above.

Will the friend list show you in what game he/she is?

Thought Ava

A command to cancel a pending friend request that you added. (Eg, /friend cancel <player>)
