Hey!

So many people are saying this generation is filled with phones, laptops, Instagram, Skype, Snapchat, Kik, Facebook, and shaming. I just want to get some of my thoughts out here, so here I go!

Our generation, is lacking real-world lovers (people from 11-17ish). I mean, you look at steam and see people have played 1000+ hours. Heres my tip- PLAY OUTSIDE!!! Nothing beats fresh air, riding a bike with friends! No matter what age you are, its still enjoyable!
Another sad thing, is body shaming. Girls, and, suprisingly enough, boys, are pressured by their peers because of the clothes they're wearing. For an example, look at selfies. You see people doing whatever they can, and I mean anything, to make themselves look best on social media sites. Four words. #Believe In Your Selfie! You are the most perfect you, and no one can say otherwise. You are amazing at being you, and thats clear. Don't let others push you down!

What I ask/my tips- Be outside more! Trust me, its not as bad as it seems. I, myself, has found it awesome to spend time with friends, riding bikes, playing sports, or just about anything else! I have slowly moved away from my laptop, and probably spends 1-2 hours on it a week. Before school.

If you spend a lot of time on phones, laptops, PC's etc, and find this rude, don't take it personally. These are just my thoughts!

Thanks!

Uhm, even if people have 1000 hours they maybe played the certain game for a long time, that doesn't mean they're not going out or that they don't have a social life? I see your point, but you can't judge people just by looking at hours. Perhaps they play it throughout the day and at night they go out with friends. I personally train everyday up to an hour street workout (sunday is the rest day) with my friends. However, even if someone didn't go outside I wouldn't really care. It's their decision whether they're going to spent their time playing computer games or what ever else.

I see you point. I don't have steam or anything, so I wouldn't really know how long people actually play, so PM me if you would like me to replace anything :)

This kinda mindset actually really bothers me. Don't get me wrong, I fully support being more socially active; but the whole "go outside" idea seems fundamentally flawed. Sure it's good for you, but the amount of time spent out/inside is not connected in any form to the social activity of a person. Speaking from experience, I've had relationships online that are beyond anything I could have experienced in the limited pool of people I have at my immediate disposal. I'd also like to mention that the video game stigma needs to stop. Video Games are a blossoming art medium that allows both the viewer and the artist to explore topics using pretty much every aspect of experience we have at our disposal, as well as being the only medium thus far to correctly and effectively use the aspect of interactivity besides boardgames. Fresh air is good and physical activity is great, but just remember that those things can coexist with any lifestyle.

On the topic of that poll; it's completely pointless. School for many is ~30 hours/week, work for many is ~20-40/week, and people living off of family wages are likely in that situation for a very good reason. Also; the 1000 hours you see people playing games in about a year or two; that's nothing. If you live to 85 years that's about one eighthundreth of your life, or about 42 days. If that 1000 hours was over the course of say, a year, that's just two and a half hours a day. This whole thing just seems really silly, like something my grandma would say before saying "back in my day, we read books and it was good for us", which is also, completely silly.
