Intro~
I’m going to try my best to make this short and sweet. After almost 4 months of struggle for the moderator position, I’m giving it up after only 2 months. The last 2 months(2 weeks of which I was on leave) have been better than anything I could ask for. I've made friends, taken part in projects, and moderated these servers like nobody's business. Before I explain my reasons, I’d like to make one point clear: I want nothing more than the ultimate success of these servers. The reasons for my resignation have nothing to do with MCGamer. The staff team here has been a joy to work with, I truly could not have asked for anything better.
Reasons~
1) The main reason for my resignation is school. While school has not yet begun, I feel that I need to get back into the correct frame of mind in the remaining 3 weeks before it does begin. Normally, I would try to cram all of my internet stuff and school into my life, think that I am succeeding, and then realize that I am not after it’s already too late. This year, school is going to be 5x harder than last year, and I have to be ready. While I am not very close to college, my family is close with a member of the board at a very prominent college; For private reasons, my entire high school career, even the first couple years, is very important towards my later life.
2) When I realized how gravely important my school year would be, I faced myself with the hardest decision I’ve made in a long time. Do I give up youtube, or do I give up MCSG moderator? After 3 weeks of contemplation, I chose the latter. As much as I love the MCSG servers and moderating for them, making youtube videos has always been my true passion. I have more reason now than I have ever had to continue creating content. I recently hit 1,000 subscribers on my channel. Many of my videos get over 300 views, and often up to 70 likes. In all my 5 ½ years of youtube experience, this is the farthest I have gotten with a channel, and I intend to do everything in my power to keep my channel running.
People~
ChadTheDJ - Of course, nothing would be possible without Chad. Thanks for making the awesome servers we call home <3
KRaidium - Inspired me to apply for moderator what seems like ages ago, and was the person to move my application to the interview stage. Thanks for being an awesome role model.
CAm - Was an awesome Sr. Mod(Now Administrator) and also happened to lead my interview. Thanks for helping me get to where I am today.
Dave - Despite all of the things people say about him, Dave is an awesome guy and a great staff manager. Thanks for everything you do.
SilaSilas - My best friend on the staff team, and possibly on the internet. Thanks for helping make my moderator experience awesome.
*There are other people as well, don’t feel left out if I didn't tag you.*
Conclusion~
So yeah. I’ll no longer be a moderator here, but I’ll be on the forums, on TS, in-game, on youtube… You get it, I’ll be around.
Thanks for everything,
-C0nsole(Garrett)
