Just copy the minecraft (in library/appsupport) folder somewhere else and update, then when you want the backup swap them.

Right if anyone has been as stupid as me updating when it came out then asking why does it say outdated server then oops i had to backup, all is not lost. My friend has a compiled minecraft.jar with optifine and modloader in it and told me how to get back to 1.2.5

Here are the 6 easy steps :

1. Download this -snip- (for anyone wondering ITS NOT a virus).

2. Search for the application called 'Run' on your computer.

3. After loading run type '%appdata%/.minecraft' and press open.

4. Go back to the file that you downloaded and drag and drop into 'BIN'

5. When prompted select move and replace.

6. Load up Minecraft and enjoy the games.

Hey, I was looking on the wiki at the list of changes in 1.3, and I had a question. In Multiplayer, it says that there's a new /tp command so you can tp to any coordinates you want, which means at the start, people could get to corn instantly, tp right to their favorite chests, and even escape getting killed by other players. I don't think it would be very fair for everyone, so will that command be avaliable when the servers are updated??

we can't use tp commands anyways, we can't even private message!
