Suggestion: MCSG going back to 200 SG servers.

Reasoning: Will stop hackers much more effectively.

Pros:
1. Will stop hackers much more effectively
2. Will make it much easier for people to get into games
3. Will draw back more players
4. Will bring back more players
5. Will be much easier to report players

Cons:

None (The SG servers WILL NOT fill up, it would be able to hold up to 4,800 players, and MCSG is getting 500-600 normally.)

Please bring back the old SG system, it was much better and it eliminated hackers much quicker than now.

Sounds good, also it will be much easier for clans because no normal player's going to join sg 182

Fist of all, The new system is better for everyone.
  • The games fill up, so a better Suvival Games experience.
  • It is cheaper to not have that many severs running at once.
  • There are enough servers right now, so its not like we need more servers. There are always a bunch of empty servers running.
What I don't get is:
  • How will this stop hackers?
  • How will it draw/bring back more players?
  • How will it be easier to report players?
This system is also made so its hard to boost wins.

I would like to see what you have to say about my points.

Not really...
You're kicked from the server once it's over.
Why does the game start at 6 players, that's what makes it easier to boost wins. 12 players was a much better idea.
It'll stop hackers because they stay in the same server.
You can actually spectate games this way... ./watch sg is completely broken and you have to guess a random server number.
It actually makes logical sense... why is there an sg #2711?
Easier for people to spectate clan battles, you don't need to spam ./join sg anymore and can also tell when it's in pre-game etc.
Spamming signs is back if you want to get back into a server
Signs are just easier and more simple to use.
Easier to stop hackers because we just need a mod watching sg1... not a mod spamming ./join sg.

Think about it like this, if you have 1 acre of land and there's a man hunt taking place. it's going to be much easier to find the man you are hunting down because there's less space to look for the man. It would take, lets say 20 minutes.

BUT! On the other hand, if you have 100 acres of land and there's a man hunt taking place, it would take much longer to find him BECAUSE the land is much bigger..

See what i'm getting at here? What i'm trying to say is; Since there's less room for the hackers to rome, you could automatically get a staff member to come in and ban the hacker, like the older days of MCSG (I used to go into the hub and report hackers their and it was much faster). Plus, you can't lie that with /report, you can't do it unless the player is their, (Which is pretty stupid).

I highly guarantee, if you guys made this change there would be less hackers and less people complaining about hackers, not forgetting about the ragers (who sometimes get banned for raging in chat, curse words, etc)

You're kicked from the server once it's over.
That is because the server is restarting.
Why does the game start at 6 players, that's what makes it easier to boost wins. 12 players was a much better idea.
Some regions like AU don't have a lot of players, and if you need 12 players to start the game, it might never start. For US or EU, late at night there are barely any players, so again if they need 12 players, the game might never start. What I mean with this prevents boosting: Since there are a little amount of servers open, people are forced to play together, also if a lobby has like 4-5 players and the timer is about to end, the server makes sure no one can find that lobby in those seconds so the timer restarts so that the lobby can fill up.
It'll stop hackers because they stay in the same server.
This wont stop hackers, there will be the same amount of hackers, they just stay in the same game.
You can actually spectate games this way... ./watch sg is completely broken and you have to guess a random server number.
./watch sg is not broken. You don't need to guess a random number, you can ask your friend what server they are in or you just do ./watch sg and it will redirect you to a new one.
It actually makes logical sense... why is there an sg #2711?
The reason the SG #s are high numbers is because this is a dynamic system. Once the server sees a couple of servers full it generates new once. Since it doesn't know how many are open (its just a computer) it makes a new one with a random name; consists of 3 or 4 numbers.
Easier for people to spectate clan battles, you don't need to spam ./join sg anymore and can also tell when it's in pre-game etc.
You can see if servers are in pre-game/live-game/Deathmatch by doing: ./servers sg.
Again, you can ask your friends what game they are in.

Signs are just easier and more simple to use.
There are still signs.
Easier to stop hackers because we just need a mod watching sg1... not a mod spamming ./join sg.
There are multiple ways we can find hackers. I don't know any mod that randomly joins games to look for them. We look at the people with high KDRs on the Leaderboards, people that have a lot of ./reports and hackers that we get poked about on TS.

From what I understand is that you mean its easier for us to find hackers with less servers?
First of all, with this new system, we have way less servers up and running at once than before. Before we had like 200+ servers open and now we have about 50?
How it works is, there are a couple servers open, once the system sees that they are filling up, it generates more servers with a random name; consists of 3 or 4 numbers.

And we don't go server to server to find the hacker. We have 2 commands that could help us. We have one that brings us to the server that that user (hacker) is in. Or a command that shows us what server number he is in.

The reason ./report only works when the player is in the same game as you is that if this was not a thing. A bunch of people would report random players they don't like.
We already get a bunch of ./reports that are fake (player is not hacking/breaking the rules, the person that reported was just raging).
Just imagine how many reports big Youtubers would get.

I highly guarantee, if you guys made this change there would be less hackers and less people complaining about hackers, not forgetting about the ragers (who sometimes get banned for raging in chat, curse words, etc)
I still don't get how having more servers would make it so there are less hackers. There will be the same amount of hackers and we would get the same amount of reports. Its just less likely for you to run into them.

Well-said, but boosters really feed off those 6-player games. I've seen a lot of high ranking players join 6 player games.

You can't see it without trying to join first. If you're spectating a clan battle but don't want to kick a player in the battle you can't tell when it's pregame.

If you do ./servers sg (servers, with the s not ./server) it will show you a list of all the servers running and what state they are in.

I am really confused how this will stop the hacker problem, let alone bring players back. Just because now we have an efficient system we don't have to go to the old expensive one. The "nostalgia" will definAtely not bring players back just imagine someone saying this. "OMG the signs are back let's go back to playing MC!" Most people have quit not because of the new system but because of other things like boredom, got real life problems etc. Sorry for being so blunt but saying that new players will come back because of signs is ridiculous.
