He has a job outside of MCSG too.

Plus, you can't just pick up random developers off the street. They need to be talented and meet certain conditions.
Oh really? Do they have to be talented? Come on, There is hundreds of talented developers out there, looking for a part time job, most definitly.

The difference is weather or not they apply.

Things to get the servers funnier:
1.More active staff ingame
2.More maps, bigger ones. Not like moonlight -.-
3. A ncp that doesn't prevent hitting.
4.Add monsters back.
That ought to do it.
What he said.
Those would be my top four things to introduce to improve MCSG.

The current Developers are doing a great job. Whenever there is a problem they tend to fix it pretty quick.

The devs are amazing, don't get me wrong but 4 devs don't do much, you should probably open apps for devs and make the age limit for mods lower.

I agree with most of what you are saying but hackers are down, it was really bad when a new form of aimbot came out around the 1.4.7 update, I'm not positive it was that one though (the timeframe is right though).

MCSG is just going through a phase, in a month or so I think things will start to steady up slowly.

MCSG. is. FINE

Yes, a lot of staff members left, sure there are more hackers, but that isn't MCSG's fault. What can they do about it?
I realize that the staff can go ban the hackers, but you could record them and send in a report abuse as easily as they could do that.

A lot of people seem to think that just because we lost staff members, just because there's an increase of hackers, that we're dying, that we're "Not going to last a month more."
That isn't true.
We will only die out if we allow ourselves to, and by saying "We're going to fail.", you're not getting us anywhere.
Get out there and record hackers, if you can't do that, patrol the servers and screenshot spammers, Capitol letter abusers, and report them.
YOU can clean up MCSG, it's not entirely the staff members jobs to do that. Yes, I do realize that's what they're employed to do, but they can't be everywhere at once.

Chad being inactive?
Honestly, that's understandable. As a player, I would love to see more activity with the community on his part, but we don't know what else he has going on in his life.
He updates the news feed whenever there is some sort of issue, and replies occasionally to threads.
He's not totally inactive.

Inactive staff?
There really aren't that many inactive staff.
Just because you don't see them online when you log on, doesn't mean they weren't on before.
Everybody has a little something called a life, and sometimes, that can lead to being incredibly busy, and not being on 24/7.
Staff are not payed (except for developers, they might be payed) and they do not need to be online constantly, there is no contract biding them to a certain amount of time online.
Yes, they will be fired if they don't do their job, and a lot of people with hate them for being inactive, but sometimes, there are more important things in LIFE to handle.

Teams ruining the gameplay?
Pardon my French, but what the hell do you want us to do about it?
We could use the "No teams of three or more" like the hive, but then we'd lose a ton of players, and have complaints all over the forums.
Teaming is fun. It's an aspect of the game that will more than likely never be removed.
You need to just deal with it.
You don't need to win every game. If you die to a team, Whoop de do! Join another server!
This is still a PVP game because last time I checked you had to fight other players, including teams.

I'm not a staff member, but I can only imagine how frustrating seeing a thread like this is.
You are basically straight up telling them "You aren't doing your job right."
That's like a punch in the face.
Our current staff members are some if the best we've had in a while. Sure, there might be a lack of staff members, but the incredible quality of staff members we do have, makes up for it.
We don't need 600 staff members, 50 really good staff members does the job a heck of a lot better.

Finally, you just need to understand. You need to understand what's going on, look at it in another Point of View.
MCSG has done a lot to appease the community, but every time, the community just finds something else to nag about.
How about when they switched tier items after a COMMUNITY poll.
I saw tons and tons of threads saying "Eww, the new tiers are horrible. Take them back."
For the love of god, can't you ever be happy?
MCSG is trying, but every time they're just pushed away.
They tried for new staff, lowered the age limit to 14, but the community still isn't pleased.
The put in a swear filter plugin, the community continues to swear, bypassing it, and complain about the filter.
They put in NCP to help bring down hackers, the community hasn't let them live it down since.

Just stop.
Think for a minute and understand how picky, and negative you are.
MCSG is trying!
You need to stop thinking only about yourself and put yourself into MCSG's shoes.
MCSG is going no where, in fact, we're growing.
We will not die anytime soon.

I'm really sorry I was so rude in this, I really am, but it needs to be said, and it needs to be said seriously.
Thank you. You said what I was going to say, only 10 times better!;)

Even though I have only been here since December, this is one of the most fun games I've ever played. Period. Not just for Minecraft. For ALL THE GAMES EVER MADE. MCSG doesn't ruin the community, the community ruins themselves. I was perfectly content waiting until November to apply for mod, but (I think I've been living under a rock) I just read that Mod was lowered to 14. Even though moderator minimum age was lowered to 14, we still get this bull?
The devs are amazing, don't get me wrong but 4 devs don't do much, you should probably open apps for devs and make the age limit for mods lower.
This is complete and utter nonsense! IS 14 NOT LOW ENOUGH???? Also, MCSG is purely for fun. You people are trying to make MCSG something that it isn't. It's a game that is played for fun, and I definitely am having fun. Maybe I should apply for moderator now that I'm able to....

The developer are amazing, of course, but the updates takes too long, it takes too long to fix them, therefore we need more developers, and not only more moderators.

I'm really sorry I was so rude in this, I really am, but it needs to be said, and it needs to be said seriously.

The first step to fixing the problem is realizing that there is one. There is a percentage of the community that have done nothing wrong and deserve better, but for every one of us there seems to be three rule breakers. I don't think that it should be the responsibility of an average player to report every rule breaker that they see, they don't have to report any if they like. I think that we can come to agreement that MCSG's staff isn't inactive but it is understaffed, and this is probably frustrating for people who wrote solid applications and were denied (I myself haven't applied so I'm not venting anything here).

One feature that was said to be released in MCSGv2 was achievements, I can't remember when this was originally brought up by chad but there has been absolutely no update since then. I would like to see something like this but it doesn't really bother me that there have been no updates.

This post is written from the perspective of someone who hasn't really displayed any frustration towards the staff or community, because I don't think that it helps any. I agree that the staff should be defended to a certain extent, but to say that it is almost solely the fault of the community is a little far fetched.

And again, as you said sorry for negativity.

I suppose this is true.
I've never had staff problems, but I tried to look at it from both POV's.
Sure, blaming the community is far fetched, but it is mostly the community's doing, as they can never be happy with the few things they are given.

Also, if you're going to complain about it, take action.
I never said it was the responsibility to report EVERY hacker, but if people are going to complain, take action.
They have no right to complain if they refuse to do anything about it.
