Can mods mute players? In my (insignificant) opinion, muting for chat spam and racist comments is much more fair than banning, because banning soils players' permanent records... For chat offenses. Also, something about tempbanning for the discussion of hacked clients seems wrong to me. A mute (after fair warning) would be far more appropriate in my (insignificant) opinion.

Whilst a ban remains on the player's record, why is this such an issue? We use this to monitor repeat offenders and deal with the offence appropriately, given past offences. If someone receives a temporary ban for something, they are much more likely to not do it again than if they were simply muted.

Most people are happy with the system we uphold; moreover, the system that we use works. Additionally, most chat offences are not for an excessive period of time - this is your warning. By playing on MCSG servers you agree to abide by the rules that govern the servers; contravention of the rules is not tolerated by any standards.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do, however I see no reason for any changes to be made to the system we use.

"I'm sorry you feel the way you do." Most passive-aggressive sentence ever.

What ban system do you use? If bans are only tracked within MCSG, then the system is just. If it's MC-wide, and you can get a soiled MC-wide record for saying "Damn" (like I saw happen to someone), then it's unfair in my (insignificant) opinion.

I still don't understand banning for discussion of hacking. Please, enlighten me.

We do not ban MC-wide - all our bans are internal only.

You may or may not be banned for discussion of hacking, depending on the content of the discussion. If the situation deems it necessary for a ban to enforce the point, then a ban is implemented. It depends in what way you are discussing hacking; for example, whether you are talking about if a user is hacking or not, compared to if you were talking about hacked clients and where you may find them/what they contain etc.

Bans are internal? Okay. Thanks. That dismisses all of my complaints with the rules.

A formal post needs to be made about haw using the lever from the sand trap or using a fishing rod in the casino is cheating (These cheats remind me of how Haymitch used the forcefield to kill his opponent IDK why). Rules seem fair though.
If you make a post saying don't do it, its just going to inform EVERYONE about its presence....
