Throughout the history of MCSG. Many maps have gone in AND out of style. Here's (in my opinion) what happened.
1.) The ONLY map at the time: Sg1
2.) Now the voting options were Sg1 & Sg2. Sg2 probably got voted 65% of the time.
3.) Breeze Island was added into MCSG. Back the it was titled: "Breeze Island (Community Map)" It quickly became voted almost every time. This trend lasted for a LONG time!
4.) A few more unsuccessful community maps were added.(And Sg3.)
5.) Sg4! This would remain popular until MCSG added the new voting system!
6.) Now its about the time when MCSG stopped relying on Veriede for all there maps. Community maps came in about once or twice a month. Most of the maps in this time were deleted when MCSGv2 came out. None of them really had a LARGE number of tributes wanting to vote for it each game because people still LOVED Sg4. But ill just name a few of them. Hungry Hills, Overgrown Arena, Sg5, Fortress Pike, Teweran Sg1, Solar Frost (Probably the most popular community map of that time,) and Kharmunrah.
7.) The map choice mostly stayed the same UNTIL MCSGv2! They took away a large majority of the communities maps.
8.) The first wave of new maps came in: Insanity Cause and Teweran Sg2. Insanity Cause was unpopular and eventually took off the servers. Whilst Teweran Sg2, Although judged by many because of its size, became a fan favorite!
9.) After moonlight lake came out, there was a HIGH demand for higher quality maps. Thus Holiday Resort and Vallyside University came out. At first they were both hits. Holiday resort then went slightly lower in the ranks. Vallyside University is still one of the most loved maps.
10.) A few other maps were added, but none of them made a big
influence on MCSG. Here are some of them: MoonBase9, Lost Mine, Wyvern's Wake, Rugged Lands, Fortune Island, and Castle Dracula. All of these have small fan-bases but none of them rose to the top.

That is where we are at today. IF YOU NOTICED ANY ERRORS TELL ME!
Even though some maps were better then others, every map made a difference. These are the makers of all the current MCSG maps!
