Hello everyone!
I've been playing on the MCSG servers for a few months now and am definitely enjoying my time there. However, I do experience quite a bit of lag, especially when I'm in a PvP battle with another player.

First, I'm assuming this is normal, to an extent, but I can't help but feel discouraged when EVERY single battle I've been getting into recently has ended with me being frozen one second, and dead the next. I also notice quite a bit of lag when I'm spectating and during the "pre-livegame".
Here are the internet speeds I'm working with...
Download: ~20 Mbs Upload: ~1.5 Mbs

Are these normal speeds for minecraft servers? I've heard that the servers largely depend on the upload speeds...

Anyway, if anyone can shed light on my issue I would be very appreciative. I would also appreciate any tips that could help with the lag.

Thanks!

I just got back from two games, both of which me and 23 others walked around the corn, talking because of lag.

When everyone lags that is server lag when you get frozen that's client lag, so I believe you are having client lag

If you are having client lag, which is when your frame rate goes down and everything moves at an extremely slow rate, the best solution is to get Optifine and reduce the settings to make less lag, and often closing applications running in the background can help.
If the server is lagging, everyone will stop moving and everyone will be experiencing the same lag. This isn't a problem you can fix, and only the server host can fix it with the developers.

Try installing optifine it reduces FPS lag so if that is the kind of lag you are getting than install that.
