Just returned and it's like the Hive now...

This is in no way a hate or complaint thread.
Firstly I looked and I couldn't find the reason MCSG converted to a hub layout. If anyone could tell me why and the benefits of the new layout it would be much appreciated.
Also I know you get this a lot but I seem to be lagging more in game than when im a specator (e.g. I run 80 FPS as a spectator and 20 In Game) if anyone could tell me a fix then it would be appreciated

Having a hub doesn't make us anything like the hive. Nearly every server has a hub now, plus you cant still join through the indivisual IP's.

I'm not entirely sure as to why we have the hub as I was (and still am) on vacation when it happened, but I assume it's too give more publicity to our other servers such as MCTF2 and Zedchase. Many servers also have hubs nowadays so I wouldn't really say that 'it feels like the Hive now'.

As for your FPS problem, however, I cannot answer D:

It really isn't. If it was then, heck, a hundred servers would be ripping of the hive unintentionally. The developers added in a hub as a social place where people can get together, meet new people, and perhaps talk strategies (my thoughts). It is in no way stealing the idea of a hub from the Hive. Perhaps it was inspiration, but nothing more.
I suggest you create another thread regarding your FPS issue.

I don't disagree, but your reasoning is a bit off. That's like saying that the Magnavox Odyssey is the best home video game console because it was the first.

Hive wasn't the first hub server, in fact it was the last one before we got a hub.

MCSG now has over 100 servers in both Eu and Us which means tons of IP's and huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge server list in your client and some servers didn't get full, thanks to the hub this resolved both issues. Players can easily join one of the 100+ servers and all servers are full constantly.
It also gives attention to our other server, MCTF2, ZedChase, Survival and Creative.

No, it is in no way like the Hive. There are several servers that have the hub system, e.g. Shotbow Network, they've had it for months.
The only difference with us is that you are able to connect to server's without going through the hub first.

I don't understand how MCSG is in no way, shape or form whatsoever like The Hive, I mean, they both center around survival games. That's a way they're alike.
