Is building a computer worth it?

Well guys, I think it is a no brainer. I will hands down be building one. The question is when... I'll do my research and start the process. Thank you for all of the wonderful support. This makes me feel a lot more confident!

1. it is way more cheaper and practical to build your own pc
2. im sure there are loads of tutorials out there on how to assemble your parts from scratch

The internet is always full of resources and saving money is always good!

When building a PC for me personally, the actual building part was fine, but when it came to connectivity and operating systems everything was jumbled up.

What I would recommend is using a site (depends on whether you're eu or us) like IBuypower or NewEgg. They'll build you your own PC and ship it to your door.

My knowledge of newegg is growing ever so quickly. I'd say that is most likely the way to go, but if I were to manually build it myself I would save even more money. Thanks for the tips!

Buils your own pc! Generally, custom built PC's are faster, and more reliable. As said above, some websites such as iBuyPower and NewEgg, will build it for you, and send it right to your front door.

I built mine and I love it. $500 and it performs like an $1,100 pre built would.

Just had one issue with a defective graphics card..but that's not the issue with building as pre build can also have defective parts

Building your own PC is so worth it!
I myself don't have a custom built PC but for the reason is that I have a laptop that I need for portability, in the end it was worth $700 and can run minecraft at 100fps usually.
But the thing that seperates a pre-built PC to building your own PC is
1. The Price: It costs so much more for a PC that is pre-built as the manufacturers need to make money so they can continue business making the prices a tad bit high. When you build your own PC you pay for the parts straight up.
2. The Knowledge: You know what is in your PC and where, so if there is something wrong at least you have a bit more knowledge of where each piece stands than when it's pre-built as most PC building companies have their own way of putting each of the parts in the case, the way each piece looks, e.t.c.
3. Last but not least the performance: In the end you will probably get better performance if you know what parts to pick to put in your computer and might pay slightly more than a pre-built one or will even be less but you get to choose what parts you put in, thus you have the control of how fast or how slow your PC will run!

I would recommend building a rig because it is cheaper, better quality parts that you get to select, and it is a fun project to work on as you build it. I have built a rig and I recommend that. As long as you select compatible parts (ex. a motherboard that fits the processor that you select). Custom built rigs also leave the ability to customize and change the parts more obviously. When I built my rig I spray painted stuff (on the exterior) and hooked LEDs inside. The hardest parts of building a rig are selecting parts and software... I personally would build a rig but if you feel uncomfortable with doing a jump like that just get a pre-built one and familiarize yourself with it's parts and watch videos computers and their parts and you can build one later on.

TLDR: Building is better and cheaper but more work.

It seems like the customization of a custom rig is endless. That's why it seems like I can't go wrong.

Building a computer pays off in the end and is fun to do as well as it has various benefits like obviously being cheaper and more customizable. Putting the computer together is not too hard but when you turn your computer on, it will likely have some problems like if you have two screens, one might be blurry or that one screen might be under scaling as well as Hard drives not detecting etc. You just need to know how to google efficiently and you probably want to be a little bit tech savvy.

Well, I'm sort of there. Haha. There is nothing you can't learn without research and hardwork!

If you can follow instructions and aren't prone to sudden, violent seizures you should 100% build your own PC. All it takes is for you to set aside an afternoon, follow the instructions and not rush.

Additionally, if you're at all concerned about frying your parts, you should buy an anti-static wristband. They're really cheap and provide some valuable insurance as well as peace of mind while building.

Quick tip. Don't cheap out on the motherboard. You're gonna want a solid motherboard so you won't have to upgrade it later.

I don't have any computer building experience, but there's a store around me called Microbytes that allows you to select custom PC parts and order them in-store. They'll also build it for you at little to no extra cost. I'll definitely go there when I get around to doing so, but I suggest looking around and seeing if you can find any stores like that. Sure, building your own computer is a great idea, but it can be very intimidating for someone who doesn't have much prior experienced and there's a whole heck of a lot that can go awry.

Build it, don't bother with buying a pre-built.

Look at stuff that happens from IBuyPower PC's as well as CyberPower.

IF you have to go pre-built, digital storm is decent.
