My Great Great Grandfather was a commander in WWI.
Both of my Great Grandfathers fought in the Pacific during WWII.
Both of my Grandfathers fought in Vietnam.
My father fought in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom was the initial Afghanistan war right after 9/11)

^Despite all that I decided to go to college instead of the military. xD

My grandfather served, but he never actually fought. I'm grateful for those who serve, but not for war and those who send us to war. I personally will never enlist if it can be helped, but I don't think I can repay those who have served.
