I agree with everything you said.
1.8 - Eventually, more and more servers will change to 1.8 in time and players have to learn to adapt.
AS/SA Servers - I wish there was but sadly funding costs too much for them unless MCGamer obtains enough funds like what Ceroria said.
Solo Servers/Team Servers - Couldn't have said it better! Teaming will always be part of the game no matter what server you go to. You just have to adapt.

I disagree about the separate servers for teams and solo. Some people just wanna play solo and tryhard and its unfair to get teamed on, especially nowadays with teams of 3+
