How do you vote for a map?

/v or /vote result in a message saying they aren't recognized commands
What am I doing wrong??

Make sure you are in a lobby when you type them

I am in the lobby when trying to vote. I cant see the maps that are choices and the /v and /vote command aren't working for me. Maybe I'm doing something completely wrong? Any ideas?

Have you actually joined a game?
When you are in the MCG "hub," click a sign in the lobby, or right click the beacon. Click a green block. This will send you into the "lobby," where you wait for enough players to join.
