Sneak around, try to surprise attack people, and be resourceful. Even a shovel can be a weapon, if you use it right.

Of course people who capture the cornucopia almost always win, but those other skills can help too.

EDIT: Also, try to get a bow. As long as you have arrows, nobody can go near you.

People who capture the corn usually get lazy and don't watch their backs while looting during restock. I ganked a 3-man team that way the other night.
