The statement that the Sr. Staff has, "better things to do," is woefully misleading and slightly insulting. Regarding the Sr. Staff, the phrase should be, "they have no power to actually do anything about it." Senior Mods and some Admins do not have access to the servers needed to alter stats.
The Developers are the only ones who can set stats. But even then it is basically not worth it. Our system is very complicated to ensure accurate recording, rapid updates, and stats security. While it sounds like an easy job to do ("Just change a number on a field derp!"), the truth is that this process requires navigating through the millions of players logged, finding the stat field that needs to be fixed, jury-rigging the account so that it can be modified without breaking the system, then reuploading the updated account statistics. That is a job that the Developers should not have to deal with just so that people can change their stats to make themselves look better. In that instance, the phrase, "has better things to do," applies to the Devs, because I'd rather have them focus on our new projects than deal with constant stats-based cosmetic work. We only alter stats in very specific circumstances, and usually then it's an issue that the Administration is dealing with.
As for hacking resetting stats, that is false. Even if a user is perma-banned, their stats are maintained on our leaderboards since we do not delete their information just because they're banned. This allows for temp-banned players to return to gaming instantaneously and without any further repercussions. It also discourages players getting rivals banned so that their rival's stats are hurt.
So, there's my unofficial explanation. Can we please not spread mis-truths, and instead seek the answers above?
