Hello Tributes, lately I have noticed an influx of threads regarding hackers & abuse. Most of these threads hate on staff for these issues, and it has gotten me thinking. Of course the blame would go to the staff, since it is our job to catch and punish rulebreakers. Yes, sometimes the staff can't get a hacker, or was AFK when you poked them, but staff members actually punish a lot of people daily.

Regarding actual hackers themselves, every server has them, and they are extremely hard to prevent. We current have Xime Anti-Cheat, which blocks some hacks and mods such as Better Sprint Mod and Regen hacks, but I see that people are looking for more than just 3-5 mods/hacks off the server. This is completely understandable. I can assure you that the developers and administration are attempting to enhance our anti-cheat plugin, and more information should be released to the public when it is finished.

Regarding staff members, we do catch many hackers. In the last 24 hours, the staff team has issued roughly 300 bans, and our anti-cheat has issued over 1,600 one minute bans blocking hacks. Also, about 80 report abuses have been filed and resolved in the last 24 hours. Although it might seem the staff do nothing, a lot of the work we do it behind the scenes, especially the Sr. Staff and Administration.

Regarding abuse, it needs to stop. As a staff member, I see a lot of really mean and abusive stuff, and it is quite sickening to me. As a staff team, we are breaking down on abuse and disrespectful behavior, because it is NOT okay. In order to do this, we need your help. Please take screenshots of any abuse you come across and report it at http://report.mcgamer.info. This is an extreme help to us!

Anyways, I hope the cleared up some of the issues people have. Hope you all have an awesome day!

Hello Tributes, lately I have noticed an influx of threads regarding hackers & abuse
**It's been rising for a few months ;)

Thanks for the thread :) It seems that sometimes all we can do is keep posting threads and messages like this to try and get people to stop complaining... :/

Is there a possible way to get a sort of "Ban Counter" on a page, so people know how many people have been banned within the last, say, 24 hours? Perhaps that'll stop some complaints..

It is on http://manage.xime.io, but I don't think you can see it unless your logged in as a staff member. I'll see what I can do.

I think this thread needs to be pinned in the main announcement section, because people really need to understand how much the great and loyal staff members are working for us every single day to prevent anything bad from happening in the server. Without you, the whole community could have been so much worse. But it is incredible, and we are grateful that moderators like you exist to help regulate the activities for us, heck, I'm ambitious to becoming a moderator myself when I get the opportunity. I guess some people hate on the staff because they haven't acknowledged on how hard you great people work for us, and sometimes, we must accept the fact that we can't rid them all. But at least the server seems good as it is. :)

EDIT: Also, I would recommend that any more hate threads that don't have constructive criticism and any suggestions should be immediately locked, due to how unnecessary the posts are.

I know that staff members do alot of work, and I do respect them using their time on this, but it's just not enough, so only way to get rid of hacks is preventing their usage, which I know is very hard.

The thing what really pisses me off, is that disrespectfullness isn't punishable. It is a way of cyberbullying, and I could imagine younger players getting really sad about these kind of things. Why not do the same as Hive, and block trashtalking? Could a staff member actually give me a valid response intead of replying 'Dave said blah blah blah'

We are working to prevent the user of trashtalking, and the devs are working on renovating the current system. The reason it isn't bannable is because if we banned people for trashtalking, 20-30% of the users would be banned.

Actually, disrespect is punishable. Rule no. 2. Do not disrespect or harass other members.
It even mentions that doing so can lead to a punishment to risking being removed permanently from the community. So please read the rules before disagreeing towards it. Also, they work harder than you believe, in a matter of fact, it would seem they are doing way more than enough work every day. There are plenty of statistics proven and shown on various occasions towards how many bans have occurred within the MCGamer network.

We must consider that without our great and loyal staff members today, then the community would have been so much worse. Each community has its flaws, Mineplex has hackers, Hive has hackers, Hypixel has hackers. There are hackers around many communities, and we are taking as much action against it as all the other communities.

We should be grateful for a good community like this. :)
Also, to clarify, that MCGamer has very professional fighters within the community, so it could sometimes mean we misinterpret good players with hackers, not mostly the case, but it does usually happen.

Good to hear that something's actually getting better, but honestly, it doesn't matter if we get rid of 30% of the community, if they are the hostile people here. We would probably get new players, when they see everyone's nice here, imagine this: Trashtalking hacker team, and I've seen these alot, that'd be one problem less.

See, disrespectfulness is not bannable, if someone says 'ez' it is disrespectful but not bannable. If someone says 'Wyz_Guy is ez', that's considered harassment, and that's why it's bannable.

Yes, that may seem the case that they would say 'ez' or 'rekt'. Although that may be absolutely frustrating knowing that people can be so unpleasant, but usually, it is best to have the tolerance to try to move on, however, if they continue annoying you, then definitely it is considered harassment. But no worries, tolerance is a great key point to have in your life, because you can take even worse things in when having it. I have been called names far more worse, so discrete that I'd beg to forget, but now I have moved on, remember. Tolerance. But you can always report people who overdo it. Just try your best to ignoring those who simply say the simple phrase to avoid bans. But here's a quote I have heard:

"Remember that people trying to pull you down are already below you.". :)

Trashtalking doesn't bother me, I can laugh at the people who do that, but I know some people can't, so I try to talk for all of those people, because I know everyone can't ignore it. But I get your point, people can't let it get to them.

Also that quote is great <3
