A few of those clips were pretty cool, and nice montage."Title" what are you talking about? I don't need a title to prove anything, I know I'm good with the FnS, and there are hundreds of others who are good with it too.
I don't agree with your post so I will reply to it stating my opinions, that's all there is to it.
I'm curious to what more you're going to write in reply to
MJM239 if you want to see where timing and precision is involved with the use of FnS, watch my montage.
But here's my issue with Flint and Steel, and I'd give it more credit if it weren't for this one reason:
Flint and Steel almost 90% of the time revolves around how careful or attentive your enemy is. Sword, fishing rod, and even bow all take demanding skill from the player to finish a kill, flint and steel is more enemy based, and sometimes kills can be down-right hilarious with how they just walk into the fire, walk out, and die wondering what in the blue-hell just happened cause they died all by THEIR fault.
But, I will give some credit that you can use some pretty sweet tactics in-game to pull off kills. (My personal favorites being the chest and glowstone placements.) But, these kills can be way too far from practical, and are used less than the simple: "I'm gonna put down some flint and steel and hope you're stupid enough to walk into it" trick.
Both precision and timing are the smallest margin of skill you need. You could be in an open spot of land with an enemy behind you, and if you placed a small bit of flint and steel right where he was stupid enough to go, it would almost be less effective than you just spraying it all over the place like a God-damn madman.
Skill in Flint-and-steel is relevant, but it's definitely the dullest knife in the cabinet to have, since it's the easiest to be good at. Whether you just want to go crazy on people and spray, or be diligent with your kills, somebody, somehow, will find a way to light your body like a Christmas Tree, and can call it a kill.
Flint and Steel may be controversial as to whether it's believed to be useful or not, but it's still a pretty, "HOT" topic. (amiright)
