Disguise Feature Idea

I have been told that the disguise skin in the actual game thing is a bug. However, I believe that it should become an actual thing. Maybe make a command like /dskin on and /dskin off so you can choose whether or not you want to use that skin or not. What are your guys' thoughts?

I definitely like that, I personally love seeing my skin even though I'm disguised. Although it may be a personal opinion, it would be great to have the option to toggle it.

Yes, I agree, as some of the skins are pretty cool. You're disguised for a reason so you might as well be fully disguised and have a new identity, instead of being yourself

It is a bug though. What happens is the randomly generated name is an actual name, registered to a minecraft user. The skin associated with that account is then used instead of the default Steve skin. You would not be able to /dskin without changing your own skin as a result.

When the disguise update was announced, it was stated that it gives you a randomly generated username, and a skin from a database that we pull from to give you a better disguise. Nothing was ever a bug, I'm not sure where that notion is coming from. These disguise names are also not real IGNs, all of these things were stated in rusty's announcement

Names such as Cronite and Itrara are among a few examples of names the new system is capable of creating (For those interested, here’s a list of 200 names i generated as a test: http://.com/VfSpzSua). The goal we set out to achieve was to have disguised names blend in, and i'm happy to say i believe we've achieved that.

Tada! Now when a player is disguised a random skin is given to them, which will appear in the game and in the tab list. With disguised skins and shiny new names, we finally set out to find and fix the few ways of finding out the true identity of a player.

Would it be possible for other players to see a disguised skin but you see your own skin...That's how it has been before the fix a few days ago and I actually like it even though it may have been a bug.

i agree with you, I /d in a game and i had a very inappropriate skin.....

I kind of like seeing my own skin while in-game. But it does make a lot of sense if you're disguised that your skin should be as well.
