If the username you have chosen already exists in Minecraft or on another Mojang account, you will need to choose a different name. Because users could previously register a username before purchasing, removal of unpaid, previously registered usernames is planned for the future. This also means that if you registered a username in the past, but did not buy the game with that account, that it is possible for someone to have already paid for that username in Scrolls, preventing it from being purchased in other Mojang games, including Minecraft
