Interresting. Would it be possible to build the map in the nether dimension? You'd get a nice dark red sky and fog. Or maybe even enderworld!

Yes it's actually been worldpainted/biomepainted to be a Nether ("Hell") biome, although the sky still appears as normal for an odd reason but I'm thinking to try an MCEdit filter to see if I can get it to work.

love it! Its different for sure. A spooky map would be awesome.
Maybe add some headstones in the open area or somthing? just give some things to go around/jump over on the way to chests?
