As a staff member, I endeavoured to be like you. I learnt quite a lot from my time as staff, but it was indirect lessons from watching you do what you do that were the most important out of these lessons. I feel like my management skills improved a lot from just watching what you did.
You can probably tell, then, that I'm quite emotional about your resignation. I feel like there will be a gaping hole in the network left over that your presence once filled. Maybe time will fill this hole, maybe it won't. Regardless of what outcome proves true, it will always feel different without you around- the Colonel. The Star. The Star Colonel, by the name of Col. StaR.
bit of a tongue twister there
Thank you for your many moons of service to our network. You've had a much bigger impact on the network than you might imagine you did, and without this impact, our community would be a mere shadow of what it is today. Hopefully you enjoyed your time here, because we certainly enjoyed it.
Good luck in your future, wherever the path leads. If it's a path of many bends and turns, I'm sure you'll find the way through. If it's a path of rocky, sharp ascents and descents, I'm sure you'll get over and down them. If you run into any adversity along the way, let your experience here be the guiding light.
overly dramatic mini-speech end
Thanks for all your work, Col, and good luck in the future.
A tribute has fallen.
