No hate: Sonic Lost world is a new game, and considering it is on the WiiU, which is Nintendo (duh) it he has a very high chance to be in it. They tend to put in relevant characters (this is why Ike replaced Roy and Crom may replace Ike.)
Also, at the advanced level, sonic is only a mediocre character: he's never banned in tournaments, so he isn't really cheap. But he is in casual play.
