Althought water maps are quite annoying, the map is beautifully made. It definitely keeps up with the standards MCSG has created. You are complaining 1 day after the map was released. It's annoying when people don't even give a map a chance.

Also, there is a dispenser that has boats in it right off corn XD

Beautifully made? All of corn is water, and teams clearly dominate. Not too beautiful :p

Just because the map has water doesn't mean it horribly made. The builds on it are absolutely stunning. And don't teams dominate on every map?

It's not actually that bad. The map just needs some improvements like adding lilly pads to travel from island to island and they definitely need to remove the OP items.

I can assure you the MCGamer staff involved with pushing out map updates plus the Map comitee are working on changes and improvements to gameplay issues for this map. Notably, removing the boats at the beginning that are causing problems (Until the plugin is fixed, and they'll be readded) and removing the diamond chest plate. It'll be fixed when the new map updates are pushed out.

Thanks for the feedback!

Actually, it's quite easy to take on teams if you're not in water.

2v1, obviously one has a better chance than the other(sure get technically and 1 person can do well alone). Now you are drawing away from what the point of the conversation is and we are talking about the map :p

Not every map has to be specifically about pvp. For example: Hungry Hills wasn't a map about pvp and it didn't have many builds, but it was a great map. It looked beautiful. I think your reasoning, once the problems are fixed, will be that Boombeard's Battle it isn't about pvp. Which is true, but that's not what it's always about. It's about surviving. Exploring this map is quite an adventure. Sometimes that's a great change from the usually short games clearly about pvping. It's a good switch off from what we mainly have on MCSG.

Boombeard's battle lacks many things that a good map should have, and they are not little things. First, there are few good places to pvp. Everything is either water, (which is too shallow) or hills. What people really want is at least a few nice, open places to pvp, like in SG 4 or Valleyside. Second and very importantly, there are too few tiers twos'. Only 7% of the chests on the map are tier twos, which is unfavorable. All our favorite maps have about 15-20% of the chests set as tier two's. Third, the chests are extremely clumped.
I played a sad game today on this map in which I swam directly to an island instead of going to corn in hopes that I could take out people coming out of corn with good armor. I ran into a cave that wound on forever and found about 15 tier one chests strewn randomly throughout it, so that I had full leather and stone sword. I saw three names tags outside of the cave and ran outside to see. It was a team of three with nearly full iron each, but only one had a weapon. Then they basically chased me and punched me into the edge of the dome till I died. Remind me not to try this map again. You either get corn or you get some cave with 20 tier one's and nothing else.
By the way, I doubt that this map was favored by a decent amount of people, but if it was, wasn't every map? Take the Fallen Colossi for example. Didn't it win some contest or something to be added? Yet it is one of the most disliked maps of all. The terraforming is horrendous, you can hardly find a chest, and there is no dome, just random cliffs where ever someone wants them to be. Look in the maps section of the forum. Every single map has a poll that states that the majority of people want it to be added, but when they do, they usually gets disliked. In the end , all we really want is Breeze, SG 4, Holiday, Valleyside, and maybe Moonbase. Those maps are simple and have very distinct landmasses and builds. They have decent tier two's. (besides Breeze) They are small. Boombeard is none of those. If we want a new map to be added, it must be similar to what we already have that is liked.

I cannot say how wrong this is. There are plenty of maps that are great here, and even the maps you listed are not all very similar. Breeze is very different from Valleyside. Honestly, having just similar maps makes the games stale and doesn't let map-based strategy and ingenuity shine. The size of the maps on the servers should vary, as should the building and terraforming of the map, to keep gameplay fresh and exciting.

The map isn't horrible, but it has major flaws. I found a bow with 64 arrows and 2 enchantment bottles in one chest somewhere hidden right next to an enchantment table. Extremely overpowered.
