I really hated how it was banned, it got so many innocent players banned because of idiotic mods that assume things without evidence..
We always make sure we have enough evidence before banning a player. If we aren't sure of the evidence that we got, we ask other moderators/Sr. Mod. We are not "idiotic mods who just assume the person is hacking", we do our best in providing solid evidence and keep the servers clean.

Yeah, but BSM was extremely hard to catch and it did result in so many innocent players getting banned. I know loads of people that were unfairly banned for the use of this mod, including myself (although I was unbanned the next day). I know that moderators don't assume people hack without solid proof, but in this case, the only solid proof for BSM is when a user sprints up a mountain.

I agree, BSM was a real pain to catch and that there have been some mistakes in banning. Just saying, running up a mountain wasn't the only proof. Hitting a block and immediatly running was also proof.
Just wanted to point out that person that we try our best to get solid proof.

I want to add some irony to this comment as well, we discovered that iShowny was one of the effected users with BSM installed while logging into our servers. So yeah, most likely going to loose his mod over it:

I also caught him abusing the diamond sword hands, I don't think anyone has read my abuse report yet

First of better sprinting isn't a hack.
All it does is make you sprint instantly instead of double pressing w. That's all it is.

Well you could say forcefield helps you hit people, BSM helps the player to sprint, it's technically not a hack, but it's a unfair advantage over other players that play fair :D

BSM is a hack, it gives player an advantage over other players. Instead of having to double tap w, as you mentioned, you only have to press one button and forget about the sprint because you are constantly sprinting. (As of 1.7, you have to press and hold a button in order to sprint "constantly", you can't just forget about it, BSM still allows you to only have to press 1 button) Any mod that gives a player an advantage over legit players is a hack and is not allowed.
