This is naturally a problem for everyone becausenot all users read the rules word for word
I wasn't aware it was possible to flaw an entire argument in one sentence, but apparently it is. If users don't read the rules word for word, that is their problem.
Rest of your arguments were.. meh. To say I completely disagree with everything you say would be a lie.
I completely agree, I think 7 days is too long, if this player gets banned for 7 days, the might migrate to a different sg server
We lost a rulebreaker? I'd say that's a profit in the checkbook.
Actually to convict someone of the crime, you would need some evidence, not just a confession alone.
You sure? Are you positive you can go tell a police officer you killed someone and you'll get off free?
Because I wouldn't want them banned over a message that could've easily been in a joking manner.
So if I told someone to jump off a cliff and die, I could get let off because I was 'joking'? The same thing applies here. We don't know if they are joking or not. There's no way to tell, so please don't pull the argument that "most of them just say that they are hacking, but aren't."
But a 7 day ban would put the offense on the same level as actually hacking.
I don't believe saying a possible lie or joke should be taken to the same severity as someone who actually hacked...
Again, your going off the assumption that the person who said they hack actually
isn't. How do you know that? Again, they could easily be hacking, and subsequently admitting to it.. so technically, the one week punishment is perfectly legitimate.
I really don't think innocent people who have served the servers (see what I did there?) income and growth, and spent tons of time on them, should be banned, just because a staff member pretends like *he has a terrible sence of humour, just to make the job easier for him/herself.
So, from my understanding, YTers who bring people to the server and / or donators should get an extra warning because of their contributions to the server?
Yeah, I'll take a pass on that, too.
I don't think this should be a bannable offense at all, because most people admitting to hacks are joking. The staff should be able to see that and take a joke instead of unreasonably banning someone for trying to be humorous.
"The staff should be able to take a joke instead of unreasonably banning someone for trying to be humorous."
Did you actually just say that?
As for your statistic of "99.99% of these people are joking", I'm highly interesting in seeing where you accumulated that data, because that's an impossible number to achieve. Perhaps one person is joking when they say it, but for all we know, Bobby over here really does hack and enjoys bragging about it. Believe me, I see the latter more than the first possibility.
Overall, it's a fair rule. Unless someone can convince me that
every single player that has said "I hack" actually doesn't hack, then I will happily change my opinions. Until then, keep the rule, keep the length.
