Hi MCSG!
I've seen a lot of new maps recently, and a lot of people complaining about them. Maps seem to be laggy, ugly and having bad gameplay. But most of those things are opinions. I don't think maps should be removed if only a few users think that the map is bad.
But, people also forget about the effort that map makers are putting in their maps. I've been trying to make a Survival Games map for quiet a long time. And it is really hard, and it costs a lot of time. That's why I couldn't finish it. And I have a lot of respect for map makers, that they put a big amount of time and effort in a map, and ask nothing for in return.
So, which maps are bad? I don't think any map is bad. Some maps are better than the others, but those are just opinions, right? And if a map sucks, it's not going to get voted. That's what the voting system is all about.
Still, there are maps needed to be removed (Survival Games 4, Valleyside University, Holiday Res... Nah jk :3), because it is almost never getting voted, and / or the majority of people doesn't like those maps.
I'm talking about Freeze Island and Asia Games.
Freeze Island
Freeze Island is a copy of Breeze. It is not like Demon's Breeze, Demon's Breeze got an unique gameplay with the lava (it has some lag issues, but hey, don't vote it if you have lag, right?). Freeze, however, is almost the same as Breeze. Endless water chases have become endless ice chases. What I don't like at all is the vines. Climbing mountains is even harder. It looks decent though. And I'm sure the concept is fine, and the map makers did a well job on it. But the only problem is that it is a copy of Breeze. The map style is nice and the builders can build very nice, but the endless ice chasing PvP gameplay is just not fun, IMO.
Asia Games
LucPlays did a good job on it, but I think that the gameplay is not good, and that the chests on it got really nerfed. I love the buildings and the building style, but the terrain is just randomly spawned in. No custom terraforming. Just a desert next to an ice forest next to a jungle. bunnies logic! Still, I think if the biomes weren't that random, that would make it way better.
And, there are a few maps which are not really liked by some people, but I think they are still good. Moonlight Lake is not pretty, but it has good gameplay, good chest placing and it has a fun deathmatch. Hell Games doesn't have much landmarks, but it gives you the foresty Survival Games 1 feeling, the classic old feeling.
Anyway, leave a comment what you think about the maps, but don't be rude against the map makers, they put a lot of effort and time into their maps!
