I personally agree with everything you had just listed. I miss starving and sneaking around because I was scared of dying. Now all you do is go to the same place on the same overplayed map and get the same loot. But the Map Committee is working on it so I'm looking forward to that.

1. Team Variede was still making maps for MCSG
2. Lots of noobs were not complaining about how much the chest update 'sucks' just because it makes the game more difficult.
3. Better community (This is bound to happen with all communities, the more it grows, the larger amount of immature players join. Back in the day MCSG was smaller so it consisted mostly of the more devoted and mature players.)

I think back then the staff was more organized, and were on top of things, like if something didn't work right, they'ed fix it. Now there kinda sloppy, then need to realize the little things count too.
