you can only duel wield torches and other non pvp items, lol, I don't hate the idea of the new particle effects tho, it's not that bad. The beets are weird tho, someone that when you eat it regens 6 hunger bars, it's defiantly different. The Chorus food is cool, teleporting around is pretty fun, would defiantly make everything different, but I don't like the animation for blocking. I don't like the idea of all the different arrows, hopefully mcsg keeps default arrows. They'll be cool on like other servers, but i dont feel like they'll mesh with mcsg. But like the strength and other arrows could be cool in like potting pvp. I love the new animation for the bow tho, and that you can see the skele shooting. Also the death screen is awesome, with the uuids and such. The new mob is dumb, no purpose. The ender crystal is cool af, spawning in a dragon. And the dragon being harder to kill, and end dungeons.

It barely changed pvp, once they fully develop duel wielding it might change, doesn't look as bad as I thought tbh. The arrows should just not be added to mcsg, even tho they're really cool

+1 for the update

im openminded about it

Thank you! Not judging the update before it's even released! From what I understand, the arrows are going to be crafted with potions, so its not like you're getting anything that wasn't in the game already. Apparently, they are going to display the potion effect in the corner of your screen if you get hit. http://i.imgur.com/PohbnKa.png

Everybody's really quick to jump on the bandwagon of every new Minecraft update completely ruining PvP, but to be completely honest almost nothing's changed so far in 1.9. Even if stuff does end up changing, people will adapt. When the new sprint update came out everybody was calling it "the end of skill in Minecraft PvP". Well skill still exists, just in a different form.

People adapt to updates. The game changes. That's fine. It's not the end of PvP lol.

Tbh I just don't like the idea of no blochitting - even though I don't blockhit much. I only block for arrows. Also, wth Mojang/Microsoft?! Shields and particle arrows? Frick, their taking ideas from 7 year old survival players that play PE.

The dual wielding isn't 'functional' dual wielding, you can't hit with two swords at once for instance. The additional hand is just effectively a holding hand and only really worth using to hold a shield or the arrow type you want to use.

None of these should effect SG, because if it's upgraded to 1.9 I highly doubt they're going to allow OP as hell arrows in chests or shields. Shields'll probably even be uncraftable.
So then all we're left with in 1.9 is literally the same thing we had in 1.8 but no texture packs work. Cool.

I little point in upgrading, considering the new features are, in the opinion of many, not very favorable and seem to be detrimental to the current flow of the PvP scene.

Who knows, this is only a snapshot and we don't know everything about the update yet. I'd rather have an optimistic view.

none of the new features are bad, in fact most of them were really cool and fun to play with.

I just flipped out when I realized I could put chicken in the shield spot and block with chicken.
