The disadvantages to 1.7 from 1.8 are more than you think.

1.8 not only had more blocks for builders, but PvP, it required more skill (aim over click speed, strafing, e.t.c.), we already got used to 1.8 and the complaints had died down, but then they just had to return to 1.7 (which is hard because the network used many MANY exclusive features on 1.8, which is another thing, there were more available features that the devs could take advantage of) because of what? Community poll? Are we going to return to MCSG Beta because we want to in the short term? No. Obviously not, so why in this case, that we got so far just to take it all back?

As a skilled builder myself, I myself use 1.8 when I am building. I have recently started using 1.7 for PvP, and I am honestly impressed with the results.

Complaints died down because majority players left, that's why they changed it back.

Hello!

I actually do agree on that, however 1.9 is not going to be the best update for PvP, maybe for building, but not what 1.7 people are wishing for ;C

Honestly, this makes me laugh..
How is it even a question what is better? New Blocks or better PvP on a PvP-Server?
1.8 was not for "more skilled" people xD There were random triple hits you could get even if it was your first day playing minecraft and then sometimes no one would get hits for a few seconds.
People left mcsg for a reason and they brought back 1.7 for a reason, too. Yes, it's unfortunate that the slime blocks and different fence colours are gone and some maps have missing blocks now.. but come on xD

Most people left that I saw because of them getting sick and tired of teams and hackers. Not the fact of 1.8, sure 1.8 was a factor, but they could've adapted to 1.8 too…

Now maybe those people can't deal with anything but 1.7, how will MCGamer ever accept the fact that they need to be up-to-date…
