Hello, my name is Cory and some of you may know me in-game as Cory_ - I'm part of a community that has a lot of servers and I was trying to find a solution for the owner for the community to use and there was no such options available as there were way too many servers.

I’m in the Server Administration field of Linux and Windows before Minecraft ever existed and I’ve put my knowledge to use and thought of a useful “Client-Side” mod that would be useful for myself and community members, but I didn't want it just for the specific community as I knew others would want to use this mod and I wanted it made available to download for anyone to use.

This doesn't give any advantage over the game as all this mod does is simple download links I've provided and/or the servers has its own API to run them.

Basically, this mod allows your community members to grab a link and paste in a URL and can simply name the profile name. Once successfully done so, You're then able to double click on that said profile and you will see a list of servers as it’s being pulled from that link I’ve and/or community has provided you.

If you're reading this in the 1.4.4+ Release of Multiplayer Profiles – We've added support for Sub Profiles, which means simply provide “1 Link” of the JSON encoded listings to the servers and those will all download in its own category and able to click on those profiles to view the servers. The old system should continue to work.

If you're interested in my mod for your community members, you're able to go to this link below and find all the information regarding the mod.

New Feature:

Multiplayer Sub Profiles - After creating a bunch of Minecraft Server Listings, I realized it was getting messy and since the idea of this mod is to make things nicer and categories, We've added a feature for Multiplayer Sub Profiles, which basically does the same thing, just downloads "All the listings" at once and adds them to it's own category.

Example: You add MineZ or MCSG with the links below (They're in blue) and it will add all those server profiles using a folder like view.

If you look at the following new screenshots:

Old Style, making it messy and the new syle only showing 5 for MCSG and 7 for MineZ - If you click on this sub profile you will see a categories listings as in the following picture.

The great news, The old style works if you already added the profiles, I hope you enjoy the new updates and please comment below.

Didn't understand some of it...but looks and sounds really good. Maybe subv3rsion and other such developers would find this more interesting.

If you look at the album under screenshots, then you should understand it. That's what the "Client-Mod" does, As for "How It Works" it's a format which we setup a way to simply parse the data this is for "Servers" such as MCSG and MCTF2 to adapt on there own servers, but since they don't have one setup I've created the server listings and hosting them myself so I'm able to get the word out and eventually, possibly servers will follow and make there own public servers based off the sytanx I've setup to parse the data.

Basically, I'm trying to get MCSG and MCTF2 to do:

but they don't have to host it, I'll continue to host it, The point of this is if they were to have there own active API then the servers will be automatically updated and then the json output would be also, so when you download the server listings it will automatically update as well without you doing any work as well if the API is coded in way to support that.

If I've confused you more, don't worry about the "Server-Side" stuff, the client-mod and the public list of servers I've provided is all you need to make the plugin successfully work.

Regards,
Cory

I've been suggesting this for ages, at last!

Would you bother to make a listing for ProjectAres?

So almost like "folders" for different Minecraft Server "groups?"
