Hello everyone, Ethan here, and I am here to give a few of my opinions on current issues/topics within the community. There have been very many issues regarding drama and players leaving the community because of this, so this will be my main focus.
Many players have stated that they want to leave the community because of this drama, which I assume would include personal indirect/direct attacks on other players. And I believe that this is made out to be much more than it actually is. By that, I mean, do not let these situations bother you. This is the internet after all, and the barrier of a computer screen allows people to bully others with little to no consequences. If you are the victim of these attacks, do not try to act childish and fight back, just don't let it bother you and move on. Many have stated that the community is at it's downfall, and this perception is completely your choice to have. If you let yourself see the negative, you will have a negative look on the community. Put yourself around people that have a positive influence on you. If more people in the community did this, things just may get better. I am not trying to tell you to ignore the problems, but if these are pointless issues that are having a negative effect on you and the people around you, something needs to change.
However, many people (mainly staff) are forced to see the negative side of the community in order for it to be dealt with. This brings me on to my next topic. The perception of staff. We all know that there are some fantastic staff members, and there are some not-so-great staff members. The staff is at its core a group of good people who wish to see the community grow in numbers and strength, and I believe that we do not give enough thanks to the staff members who put many hours of hard work in to improve our experience of MCGamer. Some people may claim "The staff sucks, all they do is ban people who did nothing wrong!" or "The staff is lazy, I never see a mod in the servers." Regarding the first one, moderators are not here to give unjust punishments. They are trying their best to make their sense of the situation, whether it be through language, or in game abuse (such as hackers.) Most members of staff would never ban someone wrongfully on purpose, that is why there is a "ban dispute" section. As to the second one, you have to remember that the staff members are very busy with their job, you can't expect them to be in a server all the time.
And to anyone, I encourage you not to leave the community for the negatives. This is a game after all, with the point being to have fun. If we all just let the childish issues go, can't we all just get along like we did in middle school? (If you got that reference, ily) In all seriousness, MCG has a bright future ahead, and I personally can not wait to see where it goes. Thank you for reading this long essay, and please reply giving your own thoughts. ~Ethan
